Fragmented Recall pulls from years of analog photos taken in the course of late nights, blurred mornings, moments that felt important at the time, and lingered unevenly in memory. The images are heavily pixelated and distorted, making it difficult, but not impossible, to discern what is happening. The viewer can sense the night without fully accessing it.

This work explores memory’s middle ground. There are nights completely forgotten and nights remembered in perfect detail, but most live somewhere in between, remembering a face, a feeling, a flash of movement. The rest shows up over time, reshaped by retelling, nostalgia, and imagination.

This lack of clarity becomes part of the pleasure. Not knowing everything leaves room for myth. The distortion mirrors how these nights survive in the mind: fragmented, heightened, and slightly unreal. What’s lost doesn’t weaken the memory; making it more intriguing, more fun, and more ours.
